A Poultry Tale!

HONK! is the wonderfully endearing story of the ugly duckling who turns into a swan and gets the girl – told with a brilliantly witty script and enjoyable songs that you will go away humming in your head. It has enjoyed great success in both the West End and on national tour, with audiences returning again and again to see it. Honk! follows the adventures of Ugly, a new (and somewhat outsized) arrival to mother duck Ida and her husband Drake, rejected by his siblings and the farmyard locals, and relentlessly pursued by a cat with an appetite for French cuisine and a talent for the tango. In the lost duckling’s search for his mother, he encounters some richly comic characters: the robust (and very British!) flight Commander Greylag and his squadron of geese; Queenie the cat and her poultry friend, Lowbutt; and the philosophical Bullfrog - who is convinced that there is someone out there for everyone – “Warts and All”. And don’t think fairy tales are just for the young . . . this show’s clever lyrics and script make it a great entertainment for young and old – and everyone in between who’s ever wanted the geeky guy to get the girl. And so he does.
